Myanmar's Chin state trip (Dec 2012/Jan 2013)

Exact dates will be announced in May 2012. The length of the trip is 14 days.

The trip will start in Bagan, the famous Archaeological site in middle of Myanmar on the Ayeyarwaddy river bank. We travel by roads up the mountains in northern Chin state from Kalay. We will spend a night or two at a heart shape Rih (Ri) lake on the Myanmar-India border. We will stop over in Teddin, Fakam, Hakka and Mindat towns in Chin state.

From the Southern Chin state (Mindat) we will come down to the middle plain and end the trip in Bagan.

We will be riding jeep on the mountain road most of the days. We will pass by small villages, rivers in the deep valleys, small hydro-electric power plants. We will spend the nights in the mountain-top towns. We will walk in the towns and villages for photos and to talk to the villagers and learn their life and some traditional customs.

The facilities provided in the trip are:-
  • Permit
  • Jeep cars
  • Local driver and local guide(s)
  • Accommodations and meals
  • Sightseeing with lots of photography

Things to bring:
  • Back pack, clothes to change, warm clothings (expect down 25C to -3C), shorts, hats, day hiking shoes and hiking sandals
  • Camera, torch, spare batteries
  • Sleeping bag, toiletries, hand cleaner, personal medicine kit, little amount of insect repallant
